The largest Lithuanian stevedoring company KLASCO, represented by Averus team, successfully completed a dispute regarding payment of debt for provided stevedoring services. The court dispute, which took more than 2 years, started when one of KLASCO’s clients failed to fulfill his obligation to ensure minimum volume of cargo and refused to pay an agreed fee for the part of cargo which was not delivered.

The client’s claim and arguments put forward by Averus’ lawyers were upheld in all three instances of the court: Klaipeda County Court, the Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court. We are happy that our client’s interest were successfully represented and we contributed to a court precedent which is very important not only for KLASCO, but also for other Klaipeda stevedoring companies.
