"We see an increased demand for employment and corporate advice by Averus clients and in business sectors, in which the firm is active. We expect a good synergy in offering specialized advice“, – says the new partner Jurgita Venckutė. A lawyer  Monika Griškutė is joining the firm's employment practice together with the new partners.

"The current economic situation allows me to expect smooth development of Averus banking and finance practice“, – shares the new Averus associate partner Lina Taletavičiūtė-Misiūnienė. Her experience in banking and finance will also add substantial value to the firm’s Aviation transactional practice.

The turning point in the legal services market – boutique law firms gain a stronger position

Averus Vilnius office partner Laura Čereškaitė-Kinčiuvienė notices, that the firm's growth is a natural consequence of the recent changes in the legal services market in Lithuania.

"The fragmentation of the major law firms in autumn of 2018 has materially changed the legal market structure which was steady for more than 20 years. The middle size specialised boutique law firms are flourishing now. A new generation of strong experts has grown in Lithuania and belonging to founder-owned law firm corporations is not an attractive career option to experienced lawyers anymore “, – she notes.

According to her, the clients including the major corporations, are increasingly choosing a specialised law expert and the importance of a law firms’ brand is diminishing.

"Smaller law firms are often more efficient, which is making the decision for the business sectors, where speed is a deciding factor “, – says Laura Čereškaitė-Kinčiuvienė.

Averus Klaipėdos office partner Regina Derkintytė-Kaupienė shares the view that the specialised boutique law firms are more attractive for the experienced lawyers due to a different business model.

"In our firm it is usual that lawyers are free to manage their working hours and workload. The firm’s profit is shared not only among the partners but also the firm’s senior lawyers are substantially participating in the firm's profit share. Our senior lawyers avoid the long career tunnels which are usual for the corporation type law firms. A good atmosphere these days is no less important than a motivational reward - this business model has been successful for us, for a decade “, – comments partner Regina Derkintytė-Kaupienė.

Averus is a business law firm having its offices in Vilnius and Klaipėda. The firm has 19 employees. Prominent international law firms ranking "Legal 500“ has acknowledged Averus as a top tier law firm in Lithuania in aviation, shipping, transport, business litigation and real estate practice areas.
